Our Mission

Eliminating Poverty

Experts estimate that about half of the world, approx. 3 billion people, live on less than $2 per day. It is our mission to do more than simply relieve poverty, we hope to eliminate it. This is why Mars Hill Cafe gives away 100% of our profit to organizations that are making a difference.

First, we believe that the poorest of our city who are willing to work should be given a chance to earn a living. We are partnering with organizations in the Mobile area who are making a way for people's needs to be met.

Second, we believe that the poorest people in the world's poorest economies should be given a chance to help themselves. We are partnering with micro-finance organizations to extend business loans to individuals in third world countries. Through the efforts of micro-finance individuals are provided the start-up capital needed to finance small businesses in these poor economies. In addition they are given the education needed to run a successful small business, lifting their families out of poverty and employing other who will do the same.
